May Newsletter

May 20, 2018 at 9:00 am The Venues will be hosting their annual Venuespalooza. Instead of normal church services, members will be working together on a variety of local community service projects. For BBHIH, our goal is to have 20 blankets that are ready to tac quilt that day. This is where you come in. Not only can you volunteer for this event (and it does not just have to be for the BBHIH project) but we are needing quilt batting donations. The kind we need are the full size- low loft. These blankets will be distributed during our 2018 Rare Breed CHRISTmas party. Venuespalooza is the perfect family friendly fun event to not only get involved in community projects, but also to serve CHRIST by serving others. You will meet all types of amazing people. After the event, around noon, we will return to the meeting spot for a celebration where there will be games and pizza for the entire family. If you would like to volunteer you can go to BBHIH.org and sign up there and you can also sign up at www.thevenues.org **childcare is provided from 8:30 to noon for children 3 and under** Thank you and we hope to see you there.

A huge thank you to Anita Villalobos, Julie Standford, and Jennifer Allred for helping build garden bed at Laura’s Home. The ladies there could not be more grateful and excited for the summer gardening.

We are still in need of donations for our Laura’s Home welcome baskets and for our hygiene bags that are distributed during our 2018 Rare Breed summer block party. For a list of needed donations for the welcome baskets you can go to bbhih.org and click on the helping hands donations tab. There you can sign up for what your able to help with, see a complete list of needed items and arrange pick up or drop off days and times. For the Rare Breed summer bags, we are in need of basic travel size hygiene products for men, women and children as well as easy on the go snack items. This can be travel size soap, shampoo, conditioner, toothbrush, toothpaste, washcloth, chapstick, deodorant, snack size pretzels, crackers, anything that does not need to be cooked. Anything is very much appreciated. If you have any questions feel free to call or email Cherie at 417-430-6421 or cherie@bbhih.org.
